Once upon a time, today,
I heard you say my name.
It was the sweetest sound I've heard
Like angels from above.
Once upon a time today,
I felt your arms 'round me,
Like I was yours and you were mine,
In our castle built through time.
Once upon a time today,
You looked at me just so,
As if I were the only girl
In your entire world.
Once upon a time today,
I woke up from my dream,
My fairy tale came crashing down,
Around this baffled queen.
Once upon a time today,
I remembered you are gone.
My true love's kiss, my handsome prince
You were the magic in my life.
Once upon a time today,
I cried again for you,
Enveloped by my loneliness
And my heart that was in two.
Once upon a time today,
I heard you whisper near,
"Don't cry, my love," I heard you say,
"I will always be with you."
Once upon a time today,
I smiled through my tears,
Right then I knew that I would
Have you through all the years.
Once upon a time, my love,
I felt your arms again,
And everyday I hear you say,
"Love, with you I'll always stay."
Once upon a time, my love,
I read a tale of truest love,
But ours is of a love more glorious,
And ends with "happily ever after."
